The Amur leopard is among the rarest big cats on Earth, with only a few dozen left in the forests along the Russia–China border. Critically endangered, the portrait on black gathers its dense rosettes and piercing gaze.
Every Animals in Black photograph begins in a wildlife park in Northern Italy and is developed through Gian Luca Partengo’s original post-production process, which isolates the animal against black without altering its identity.
