Red-headed vulture

Sarcogyps calvus

Conservation status (IUCN): Critically endangered

from €85,40

With its bare red head, the red-headed vulture plays the essential role of scavenger across Asian plains. Critically endangered, decimated by veterinary drugs in livestock, it is portrayed on black that isolates its gaunt face.

Every Animals in Black photograph begins in a wildlife park in Northern Italy and is developed through Gian Luca Partengo’s original post-production process, which isolates the animal against black without altering its identity.

10% of the value of every print is set aside and donated to WWF or other organisations committed to protecting animals and endangered species.
